Childrens Advocacy Centers of Washington is looking for an Executive Director to join our team
Under the authority of the Board of Directors, provides oversight and direction for the planning, development and management of the daily operation of the state association which supports the needs of the Childrens Advocacy Centers throughout the State of Washington. Works in partnership with the Board of Directors, association staff, center directors and other key constituents to strengthen the awareness of child abuse while generating support for CACWA.
:Ensures leadership for the smooth operation of the state association.
:Oversee all activities to assure objectives are met including those in strategic planning, marketing, program development and policy formulation.
:Oversee annual budget preparation for Board approval.
:Works closely with the Board Chair to enhance participation of Board members.
:REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
:SUPERVISES: Contracts Manager
:Maintains a strong working relationship with the board of directors, center directors, Western Regional CAC director, National Childrens Alliance headquarters, government officials, grantors, foundations, and contractors.
:Is accountable to these key constituents and routinely provides verbal or written reports as required.
:Prepares all board related materials, plans and attends all board meetings, and provides direct oversight and management of all board committees.
:Ensures the ethical disbursement of funds and other subcontracts in compliance with appropriate state and federal laws.
:Assures the financial viability of the state association through fiduciary oversight of the annual budget, compliance with standard accounting practices, and assures an annual third party audit of financial records is conducted.
:Ensures the unique and collective evolving needs of local childrens advocacy centers holding membership with CACWA are routinely assessed and effectively addressed through the provision of relevant training and technical assistance offerings, internal and external collaborations, and ongoing two:way communication.
:Additionally, assures unserved, or underserved, counties in Washington are apprised of the benefits of childrens advocacy centers and supported in their efforts to establish childrens advocacy centers to meet the needs of their communities.
:Provides leadership to expand and diversify financial support through annual giving, special events, direct mail, planned giving, capital campaigns, and any other board approved campaigns.
:Identifies and cultivates individual, foundation corporate and governmental relationships for the purpose of generating funds to the organization.
:Assures donor database is maintained and updated.
:Cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with key legislators, Chiefs of Staff, Attorney General, and other high ranking officials to build strategic alliances in order to assure continued support of funding appropriations, development and implementation of public policy to further enhance and protect the childrens advocacy center model, and advocate on behalf of children.
:Works with other state and national organizations on behalf of children.
:Works in collaboration with the board of directors to plan, develop, implement and update the strategic plan for the state association.
:Oversees and implements the marketing and public relations plan and activities to include creation of collateral materials, annual report, newsletters, direct mail and other forms of communication.
:As appropriate, serves as a spokesperson for the state association.
:Performs other related duties as assigned.
:Ability to work with a volunteer board of directors.
:Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with subordinates, board, outside organizations, and the general public.
